About This Campaign

100 people. $50 a month. It would help more than you know.

We’re asking 100 people to give $50 a month to Team Memphis Rescue & Support. That would give us $5,000 each month we could count on to help care for our dogs.

Every year, we see more dogs needing help while donations drop. This past quarter has been particularly rough. From July 1–September 30, 2026, we spent $40,693.83 on vet care, boarding, food, supplies, transportation, and training. That’s about $13,565 a month.

We’re working our tails off, and we could really use some help.

From January 1 through October 28, we’ve had 233 dog adoptions and foster-to-adopt placements, along with 235 transfers to partner organizations. We’re grateful for every one of those opportunities. And when an animal leaves our care, our commitment doesn’t end. If they ever need us again, we’re here. We make that promise for life.

Every dog who comes through TMRS—including dogs going to a partner rescue—is microchipped and vaccinated, and we cover their spay or neuter. We take care of routine vet visits, annual exams, and heartworm prevention. This year, we added ProHeart 12. When a dog tests heartworm-positive, we start treatment right away and continue that care after adoption.

If they come to us with a medical condition we can help correct, like Goldie’s ACL injury, we cover that care too. Some dogs need training and extra time, and we invest in that when it’s needed. We also have two fospice dogs, Molly and Mavis, who depend on us to keep them comfortable, loved, and cared for.

The unexpected medical bills have been especially hard. Eight ER visits this year, averaging about $2,500 each, add up to roughly $20,000. Melvin’s unexpected medical issues brought us to our knees. When a dog needs that kind of help, waiting for the next fundraiser isn’t an option.

We’ve learned a lot of lessons this year and as such, we reorganized to make sure we do not miss things and worked hard to get our boarding numbers down. We’ve also spent time building relationships with a handful of trusted rescue organizations. We do not transfer dogs to just anyone who says they want a dog. We care about where they go, and we take choosing those partners seriously.

Those 235 transfers required 235 health certificates, costing $11,750. We’re licensed in Pennsylvania and coordinate about three transports a month. We also pay $460 a month for insurance to protect our fosters, who open their homes and make so much of this work possible.

We’re applying for grants nonstop, and we’ve been awarded some. We’re also trying to get as creative as we can with fundraising, including the Champion Paws 5K on April 10, 2027. Come run or walk with us:

Not one of us are paid for this work. We each put a lot of our own money into making sure these animals get what they need. We’re not perfect, but we keep learning and trying to get it right. Doing right by each animal matters to us.

Having steady monthly support would take some of the pressure off. It would help us cover everyday care and be better prepared when another dog needs more than we expected.
