Megan's Birthday Fundraiser to Help Fix Hamburglar's Legs

About a month ago, I was asked to take over care for a puppy in a different rescue who had been injured by his feral mom. When we got him, Hamburglar was only 2 weeks old and incredibly frail and weak. I carefully nursed him back to health using every tool and trick in my arsenal, but it was clear that something was still very wrong. Something that I couldn't fix with experience and round-the-clock care. He was not figuring out how to walk like a normal puppy and I narrowed it down to an abnormality in one of his front legs.
We've gotten multiple opinions from a variety of veterinary teams regarding Hamburglar's condition, and we still have not figured out 100% what is wrong with him. The current working assumption is that when his mom injured him, she tore a tendon in his leg, which then healed incorrectly rendering him unable to use either of his front legs due to how stiff the injured one is. This has, in turn, lead to his other front leg becoming warped from disuse. We've tried stretching, splinting, exercising, and everything else our vet, PT, and even OT team members could think of to no avail. They do not make wheelchairs in Hamburglar's size, so we've been looking into options for a custom made one. He also has a consult with the an orthopedic surgeon at MedVet on Wednesday and a call out to the ortho team at the University of Wisconsin teaching hospital.
As expected, all of this is costly, and it might still result in him losing one or both of his front limbs. Hamburglar is the epitome of sweetness. He wants so badly to run and play with his littermates, but his body will not let him. He wants so badly to be a normal dog, and we want so badly to be able to give that to him.
You know the new song by Olivia Rodrigo where the lyrics are - "Baby boy // Honey bee // God I love the way you look at me" ? — I'm absolutely positive those lyrics were written about this sweet baby. It has been a long time since a dog wormed their way into my heart this firmly.
I've saved a lot of dogs in my lifetime, but this one is just... he's special in a way I can't quite describe. It would mean the world to me if you would consider donating to help me and my little rescue operation be able to confidently cover whatever specialty care is in the future for this kiddo.
